The real castle is still well protected by its bastions. It is in the form of an "L" shape with its irregular façade turned towards the internal courtyard.

The other façade, with its great entrance door that looks towards Paganico and the Maremma, has the appearance of a huge wall interspersed with large windows and is of fifteenth to sixteenth century construction. Only the base of its foundations remain to remind us of its original medieval roots.

The little church of San Tommaso is located close to the castle. Today it has been desanctified and is now a private property used as a studio for artists in search of inspiration.

A terracotta bas-relief in the style of della Robbia is located on the tympanum of the façade. The statue, located in a niche above the bas-relief, is a copy of the figure of Saint Paul from Nicola Pisano's pulpit in Siena Cathedral.
