Civitella Paganico is located along the SS223, the main road that connects Siena and Grosseto. The various villages, or frazioni, that make up the Borough, can all be easily reached from this road, with the exception of Monte Antico and Dogana. To reach Monte Antico it is necessary to exit at Paganico and head in the direction of Monte Amiata. Follow the signs for Petriolo until you reach the turn-off for Monte Antico, or continue along this road until you reach Dogana.

To reach the town hall at Civitella Marittima, a number of alternatives are listed below:

From Florence: Exit at Firenze Certosa in the direction Siena/Grosseto. When passing Siena take the exit for Grosseto and stay on the SS223. After about 35 km you will arrive at the exit for Civitella Marittima.

From Rome: Follow the directions for Civitavecchia/Grosseto. Approaching Grosseto take the exit for the SS223 marked Siena and head north for 30km until you reach Civitella Marittima.

From Pisa: Take the autostrada A12 (Genova/Civitavecchia) in the direction of Livorno. At the end of this autostrada, you will join the Aurelia superstrada, travelling in the direction of Grosseto. As you approach Grosseto, take the exit for Siena on the SS223. After about 30 km you will find the exit for Civitella Marittima.

Transport

Train

The only railway station serving the Comune of Civitella Paganico is located at Paganico. It is a stop on the line Florence-Siena-Grosseto-Orbetello. You can find a train timetable on the Trenitalia website The name of the station is "Civitella-Paganico".

Tickets are not sold at the station but must be purchased before boarding the train. They can be purchased at the bar located opposite the turn-off for the station.

Bus

Civitella Paganico can be reached by a bus service that connects Siena and Grosseto. Below are listed the bus companies that operate in the area, RAMA and TRAIN.

RAMA - This service includes the more distant and isolated areas of the Province of Grosseto, such as Roccalbegna and Monte Amiata.

TRAIN is the company responsible for municipal services in the towns of Siena, Colle V.Elsa, Poggibonsi and Certaldo. It also runs an intercity service within the Province of Siena, as well as connecting the capital cities of other provinces in the region including Florence, Arezzo and Grosseto.
